Auction season kicks off this month with Houston & Orlando.

While January marks a relatively sleepy time of year on the auction schedule, the gears really begin churning in February, when we mark our biggest U.S. event of the year – Orlando. February also features are first Texas auction of the year – in Houston – and like everything in the Lone Star State, it’s a big one.

For those thinking of selling equipment, these are two opportunities you won’t want to let pass by. Both events bring in a world of global and domestic buyers, who are ready to compete for your assets. Last year, our first Texas auction in Houston sold 5,850+ equipment items for US$61 million+, while Orlando shattered records with a $237 million, 6-day sale that sold over 13,500 items.

Here's everything you should know about selling at these two important auction events:

Houston, there is no problem on Feb 9

Last year was the largest-ever February Houston auction, with a record number of consignors and bidders, and strong pricing on both days of the event. More than 8,850 people from 71 countries registered to bid in the big event. Online buyers purchased 58% of the assets.

Of course that was all before COVID-19 flipped the world on its head. Our auctions are currently all online and Houston will be no different. But the buyers have come out in droves online. In fact, we saw bidder registration increase 72% in 2020. It’s clear buyers have moved online and are looking for solid equipment to get their upcoming jobs done. There’s still time to consign for Houston and get your used commercial assets in front of these buyers.
